What is Pilates?
Pilates is a form of low-impact exercise (stemmed from the theories of Joseph Pilates) that aims to strengthen muscles while improving postural alignment and flexibility. Pilates moves tend to target the core, although the exercises work other areas of your body as well. You can do Pilates with or without equipment, but no matter what, expect the moves to involve precise movements and breath control. Pilates is a full-body exercise method that will help you move and do everything more efficiently.
What is the difference between Yoga & Pilates?
Yoga & Pilates share many similarities, however are still quite different in that Yoga focuses mainly on improving flexibility in your body. Pilates focuses on relaxing the tense muscles in your body & provide strengthening of the muscles to provide support where needed.
What are the health benefits of Pilates?

Yes, Pilates is great for strength training as you’ll be conditioning your core muscles to stabilise & align your spine. During this class, you will also be performing resistance based exercises that will require you to use equipment as well as your own body weight to improve overall strength throughout the body.
Is Pilates suitable for beginners?
Pilates is suited for all levels of fitness. Our friendly instructors will modify movements for the beginner if need be.
What is a Pilates class like?
You will perform low-impact exercises, sometimes using equipment to help strengthen muscles & improve flexibility. Expect to work up a sweat as you perform movements that challenge you physically!
